I went to “The Stage” in Nashville and, while up front took a few blurry photos of the band. It was so colorful I had to paint it. I used lots of bright blues, pinks, and greens.
I had the idea for this from watching a TV show. I had to go buy the oil and vinegar set at an antique shop. The lamp was in our family.
I painted this first and then it was so bright that I used the leftover paint on my pallette to tone it down around the edges. I kept the bright glow in the middle.
I painted this from a facebook photo posted by my friend Paul Brown. Wish I could have been there to take the photo myself:)
This painting is of some flower vendors in Portugal. I opted to do a vignette which requires strong shapes in the center.
This is a painting of my daughter’s miniature pincher,Star. He loves the sunny spot on top of their nubby sofa.
I loved the strong diagonals and verticals in this photo so painted the pelicans rather small playing up the posts. These pelicans are on the Gulf of Mexico near Seaside, FL.
This painting on Yupo paper was so interesting. Halfway through drying, it flipped over on my wrought iron table which resulted in a neat grid pattern.
This was done on Yupo and invented from a photo of the engine on a locomotive steam engine. My husband got to ride in the engine car for his birthday.
My husband and I took a ride on a locomotive steam engine. At the turnaround, I took this photo.
This is a painting of my stepdaughter painting her daughter, Sarah’s, fingernails.
